Having a morning routine helps her stay positive throughout the day.

“My approach is, when I wake up in the morning, I say five things that I’m grateful for, I put my Fitbit on, I play with my dogs,” she says. “I have my little routine in the morning that kind of sets the tone and sets my state for the rest of the day.”

Hough also maintains a healthy sense of self by staying true to who she is.

“Knowing your true self when you’re in a time of insecurity, for instance if somebody says something about your body, you know you’re doing the best you can,” she says. “Always stick to you and being true to yourself.”
